Meet Reese’s Pieces
🌟 Meet Reese’s Pieces!
🐾 ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Reese’s Pieces is a whole lot of joy packed into one wiggly, kissy, enthusiastic girl! She’s friendly, affectionate, and loves saying hello to just about everyone she meets. When she slows down long enough for some affection, she’ll lean and rub against you almost like a cat, soaking up every bit of love she can get.
Reese approaches most things in life with maximum enthusiasm. She’s playful, curious, and incredibly food motivated—this girl knows a good snack when she sees one! Treats will be a fantastic tool for continued training, though you’ll want to keep an eye on your countertops because Reese is more than willing to investigate whether you’ve left anything tasty within reach.
Reese has also shown us just how much she enjoys other dogs. She’s a rough-and-rowdy player who loves running, wrestling, chasing, and being chased. She does a nice job taking breaks and switching roles during play, though her enthusiastic style may be best matched with another dog who appreciates the same kind of high-energy fun. She can become excited when another dog is barking or reacting toward her, so thoughtful introductions will help set everyone up for success.
Reese is still working on some important life skills. She can pull when she’s excited, occasionally spin around her person on walks, and is an enthusiastic door dasher who will need careful management around gates and exterior doors. She can also be uncertain about venturing onto the trails, but once her nose gets to work investigating all those interesting smells, she begins to settle into the adventure.
This sweet, silly girl has so much personality and affection to share. With continued training, plenty of activity, and a family who appreciates her larger-than-life enthusiasm, Reese’s Pieces is going to make life a whole lot more fun.
🐕 HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
I do great with other dogs and LOVE to play! My style is rough and rowdy, with lots of running and wrestling, so I’ll likely be happiest with canine friends who enjoy the same kind of energetic fun. I do a good job taking breaks and switching between chasing and being chased. I can get worked up if another dog is reactive toward me, so thoughtful introductions are important.
🐱 HOW AM I WITH CATS:
I’ve shown some interest in cats from a distance, but my friends at FOHA are still learning more about how I might do living with one. Just ask about a cat test!
👶 HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
Unknown — we recommend slow introductions to help everyone feel comfortable. Because I’m an enthusiastic, jumpy girl, I’ll need a family prepared to continue helping me practice polite greetings.
🎓 I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS:
I’m still learning, but I’m extremely food motivated, which should make training lots of fun! I can sometimes take treats enthusiastically, so offering them from a flat palm or tossing them is best.
🏠 MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING:
Unsure at this time.
💖 THINGS I LIKE:
Other dogs, rough-and-rowdy playtime, treats, meeting people, kisses, cuddling, sniffing adventures, exploring, and being enthusiastically involved in whatever you’re doing.
⚠️ THINGS I DISLIKE:
I’m not always sure about unfamiliar places like the trails and may need some encouragement to explore. I’m also still learning that doors are not an invitation to launch myself into my next adventure, so my future family will need to be mindful around entrances and exits.
