Meet Roomba
🌟 Meet Roomba!
🐾 ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Much like her namesake, Roomba is always on the move with her nose to the ground, making sure no forgotten snack goes undiscovered! This sweet, silly young girl is full of wiggles, enthusiasm, and personality. She loves people, has no problem making new friends, and has been known to immediately roll over and request belly rubs from someone she just met.
Roomba is still learning some of the basics of being a well-mannered pup. She can be jumpy and occasionally mouthy when she’s excited, but once that initial burst of enthusiasm wears off, she softens beautifully and settles in for affection. Her absolute favorite? Belly rubs. Roomba will happily flop onto her back whenever she thinks there’s a chance someone might indulge her.
Food is another way to this girl’s heart. Roomba is extremely treat motivated and will happily put her impressive nose to work searching for any snacks that may have been left behind. She hasn’t quite learned that countertops aren’t an all-you-can-eat buffet, and she can take treats enthusiastically, so a flat palm or tossed treat is currently the best approach. Her love of food should also make positive-reinforcement training a great way to help her build new skills.
Roomba is still figuring out leash walking and sometimes seems confused when she reaches the end of the leash and suddenly feels pressure. With practice, patience, and more positive walking experiences, we expect her skills to improve. She can also be a champion door dasher, so her future family will need to be mindful around open doors while helping her learn that good things come to dogs who wait!
Underneath all that puppy enthusiasm is an incredibly sweet girl who just needs some guidance channeling her excitement. Roomba is affectionate, social, playful, and ready to have a whole lot of fun with a family who will help her become the best version of herself.
🐕 HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
I do great with other dogs and LOVE to play! I’m a rough-and-rowdy girl who enjoys wrestling, running, chasing, and high-energy fun, so I’ll likely be happiest with canine friends who appreciate my enthusiastic play style. I can be a little pushy around shared resources like the water bowl, so my family should supervise shared food and high-value items while everyone gets to know each other.
🐱 HOW AM I WITH CATS:
Unknown — just ask my friends at FOHA to conduct a cat test.
👶 HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
Unknown — we recommend slow introductions to help everyone feel comfortable. Because I’m still working on jumping and puppy mouthiness, I’ll need a family prepared to continue helping me practice polite manners.
🎓 I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS:
I’m still learning, but I’m incredibly food motivated and ready to put that enthusiasm to good use! Positive-reinforcement training should be a fun way for us to learn together.
🏠 MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING:
Unsure at this time.
💖 THINGS I LIKE:
Belly rubs, food, treats, playing with other dogs, wrestling, running, meeting new people, exploring, sniffing for forgotten snacks, and being part of the action.
⚠️ THINGS I DISLIKE:
I’m still getting used to walking on leash and can become unsure when I feel leash pressure. I also have a hard time resisting an open door or an unattended snack! With continued training and practice, I’ll keep learning better ways to channel all my enthusiasm.
