When you donate items to The Treasure Hound Resale Shop, you help clear extra space in your home. Moreover, you directly support the rescue, medical care, and shelter of dogs and cats at Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA). Every contribution becomes a unique finding for our shoppers. As a result, your gently used goods turn into lifesaving funding for animals in Northern Virginia.

Before bringing your items to our drop-off center, please review our donation schedule below. Additionally, check our location guidelines and accepted item lists to ensure a smooth drop-off process.

How & Where to Donate in Chantilly, VA

Our donation drop-off center is located right at our main retail storefront in Fairfax County. Therefore, it is easily accessible from Route 50 and Route 28.

  • Drop-Off Address: 14508-D Lee Rd, Chantilly, VA 20151 (Located at the corner of Rt. 50 and Lee Rd., one traffic light west of Rt. 28).
  • Drop-Off Instructions: When you arrive at the shop, please pull up to our side entrance marked with the letter “D” and ring the bell. A staff member or volunteer will assist you with unloading your vehicle. Furthermore, they will provide a tax receipt upon request.
  • Donation Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • No Drop-Offs Accepted: Sundays & Mondays.

General Donation Acceptance Policies

We want to keep our store stocked with quality merchandise. This helps generate maximum funding for FOHA. Consequently, we ask that all donated goods meet the following standards:

  • Tax Deductible: FOHA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Because of this, all donations are tax-deductible. Donation receipts are available during drop-off hours.
  • Condition: All items must be clean and odor-free. Additionally, items must be in full working condition with all original parts, cords, and hardware.
  • Apparel & Linens: Clothing, footwear, and household linens must be freshly laundered. For example, items must be free from stains, pet hair, holes, or tears.
  • Large & Unique Donations: However, if you have questions about specific items, please call us first. You can reach our store directly at 703-263-9073 prior to your visit.

Items We Gladly Accept

We are constantly seeking quality treasures for our resale shop. For instance, we gladly accept:

  • Home Goods & Decor: Framed artwork, lamps, decorative accents, mirrors, glassware, and seasonal holiday decorations.
  • Clothing & Accessories: Men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel, shoes, belts, handbags, and fine or costume jewelry.
  • Antiques & Collectibles: Vintage items, rare finds, china, and collectible figurines.
  • Select Pet Equipment: Brand-new pet products (must have original tags attached). Similarly, we accept clean metal dog crates, exercise pens, and safety gates.

Items We Cannot Accept

Due to safety regulations and limited display space, we cannot accept all items. Specifically, we are unable to accept the following:

  • Books: We do not accept hardcover or paperback books of any kind.
  • Used Pet Products: Used pet toys, opened food, or fabric items without tags are not accepted.
  • Damaged Goods: Items with missing parts, broken hardware, heavy wear, or electrical defects.
  • Direct Shelter Supplies: Please note that our Chantilly resale shop no longer serves as a drop-off hub for direct supply donations intended for the Aldie shelter facility.
