Meet Charlie
🌟 Meet Charlie!
Charlie is a sweet, easygoing guy who has been showing us exactly what kind of companion he can be thanks to time in a foster home. He may be a little skittish when he’s first adjusting to a new place, but give him some time to settle in and you’ll soon find a curious cat who wants to be part of your everyday life.
Charlie has perfected the art of being independent without being distant. He likes to do his own thing, but he also likes knowing where his people are. He’ll follow his foster family around the house, stop by to check on everyone during the workday, come when his name is called, and seek out pets when he’s ready for some affection. In the evenings, he may hang out nearby while you work or relax, and at bedtime, he joins the whole family upstairs.
And by “whole family,” we mean the dog, too!
Charlie has been GREAT with his foster family’s dog. The two comfortably share their daily routine, head downstairs together in the morning, eat in separate spots in the kitchen at the same time, and even enjoy treats together. At night, Charlie has been found snoozing on the bed right beside his canine foster sibling. For a family hoping to add a cat to a dog-friendly household, Charlie may be a wonderful match.
🐾 A Few of My Favorite Things:
Morning pets • Wand toys • Following my people around • Hanging out on the screened porch • Being part of the family routine • Doing my own thing nearby • Spending time with my dog friend • Joining everyone at bedtime
Charlie is also a refreshingly down-to-earth guy—quite literally! While some cats dream of scaling the highest cat tree, Charlie generally prefers keeping all four paws closer to the ground. He’s perfectly content lounging on the floor or finding a comfortable low spot where he can relax and keep tabs on his family.
His foster home has also given us great insight into his manners. Charlie has excellent litter box habits and has done well settling into the rhythm of home life. He’s affectionate without being demanding and has even handed out a few little kisses to his foster family.
🏡 What I’m Looking For:
Charlie would likely be happiest as the only cat in the home or with another independent cat who is comfortable giving him his own space. Dogs, on the other hand, appear to be right up his alley! He’s done wonderfully living with his canine foster sibling and seems very comfortable sharing his life with a respectful dog.
Most importantly, Charlie would love a family who appreciates a cat who doesn’t need to be in your lap every second to love being with you. Give him time to settle in, let him choose when he’s ready for affection, and he’ll happily become part of the rhythm of your home.
💛 Ready to fall in love?
If your ideal cat is sweet, independent, playful, dog-friendly, and always somewhere nearby keeping an eye on the family, Charlie might be exactly who you’ve been looking for.
