Meet Buddy

🌟 Meet Buddy!

Buddy may look a little serious at first glance, but don’t let that adorable floofy face fool you — underneath is an incredibly sweet, playful boy who is just waiting for the right person to earn his trust.

Like many thoughtful cats, Buddy prefers to take his time getting to know new people. But patience with Buddy comes with an amazing reward. Once he decides you’re a friend, he’ll happily seek out affection, leaning into cheek scratches, head rubs, and chin scritches with enthusiasm. In fact, one of his favorite ways to ask for more attention is by repeatedly head-butting your hand until you get the message.

Buddy uses the litter box consistently and keeps his resting areas tidy.

🐾 A Few of My Favorite Things:

Head scratches • Chin rubs • Being brushed • Wand toys • Playtime • Cozy lounging spots

Buddy absolutely loves having his luxurious floof brushed and pampered. While he can start off a little reserved, he has a playful side that surprises everyone. One volunteer even described him as the most playful cat they met that day! He enjoys toys, especially wand toys, and can often be found rolling onto his back nearby while keeping a close eye on the action.

He has also shown that he’s very respectful around other cats, happily sharing space without causing any drama. While he’s perfectly capable of entertaining himself, we suspect that with the right home and a little time, Buddy may discover that laps are actually pretty wonderful places to be.

🏡 What I’m Looking For:

I’d love a patient home that understands that some of the best cats take a little time to bloom. Once I feel comfortable, I’ll reward you with affection, playful antics, and plenty of head butts. I may do well with another respectful cat, and if you have a cat or dog at home, I can go home as foster with intent to adopt so we can make sure it’s a good fit.

💛 Ready to fall in love?

If you’re looking for a sweet, fluffy companion whose friendship only gets better with time, I might just be your perfect Buddy.

Buddy's Medical Information

I have FIV, that's what I have but it is NOT who I AM! Please don't let that scare you away. I want you to know that FIV+ cats can and DO live long, healthy, and normal lives when given the chance. In fact, statistically, most FIV cats live as long as their indoor counterparts (13-18 years), and much longer than cats that live outdoors (3-8 years). There are many reported cases where FIV+ cats live well into old age without ever showing any symptoms. It's important to note that dogs, other pets, and humans are absolutely immune to FIV. The virus itself is astonishingly frail and can live outside of the body for only a few seconds. The virus is also extremely slow-acting, so it is unlikely to pose any threat to other cats in the household. I know that adopting an FIV+ cat may seem like a big responsibility, but I promise that I am worth it. I am a sweet and loving kitty who just wants a warm and safe place to call home. If you are willing to give me a chance, I promise to bring you years of joy and companionship. So please come and meet me, and see for yourself that FIV+ cats are just as wonderful and deserving of love as any other cat.
