Meet Bucket
ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hi, I’m Bucket — a fun, spunky, and expressive young pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart! I’m equal parts playful and affectionate. I love attention, I’ll gladly engage in a game of tug or chase, and I’m always ready for an adventure. I may get a little bouncy and use my mouth when I’m excited, but I’m working on polite greetings and learning fast with the help of treats and patient guidance.
I’m the kind of dog who thrives with structure and someone who enjoys training and play in equal measure. I already know “sit” and I’m practicing “heel” on walks. I’m especially excited near doors and gates — sometimes I just can’t contain myself — but I’m eager to learn and love having something to focus on.
I’ve played well with other dogs at FOHA and tend to do best with pups who give me space and respect my energy. My play style is on the rough-and-tumble side, so I’d thrive with a tolerant, playful companion or as your one-and-only if you’re looking for a high-energy sidekick.
I’m a mix of goofy confidence and tender sensitivity. Sometimes if I’m unsure or uncomfortable with touch in certain areas, I’ll gently nibble to let you know. I just need someone who listens to my cues and helps me feel safe.
If you’re ready for a smart, active, and loving pup who will keep you on your toes and make you laugh every day — I’m your girl!
HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
I enjoy dog play and do best with friendly, respectful dogs who understand my rough-and-rowdy style. I may prefer female dogs or more neutral energy playmates.
HOW AM I WITH CATS:
Unknown, but if interested FOHA staff will conduct a cat test and send a video to the potential adopter.
HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
I’d do best in a home with older kids or adults who understand that I can be jumpy and mouthy when excited.
I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS:
Sit • Working on heel and redirection cues
MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING:
Still working on kennel routine and harnessing, but eager to learn. FOHA can provide tips for continued training.
THINGS I LIKE:
Treats • Wrestling with dog friends • Being the center of attention • Learning new commands • Exploring outdoors
THINGS I DISLIKE:
Fast handling in sensitive spots (like my chest or neck) — I appreciate a slow, respectful approach.
