ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hello everyone! I’m Jasper! You might have known me as Jekyll, but I’m loving my new name and a fresh outlook on life.

I began my journey as a stray, but luck turned in my favor when I was rescued and brought to FOHA. I have a past to leave behind but so much future to look forward to! Trust can be tricky for me with new people—I’m a little head shy when unfamiliar hands come near, but I warm up quickly once I get to know you. My friends here can rub me all over, and I just LOVE it! I just need someone patient to help introduce me to new people and show me the way.

My name means “treasurer” or “bringer of treasure,” and I want to be YOUR treasure!

Playful and sweet, I’m ready to be the source of joy and love in your life. I’d do best in a home with a friendly but fairly chill female dog— I love chasing other dogs but not wrestling. I’m happiest without small animals or young children.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion dedicated to spreading happiness, look no further—I’m your guy.

I’m so excited to meet my potential new family! To make sure we have the best first impression, I’d feel most comfortable meeting new people with one of my friends(a FOHA staff or volunteer) by my side. HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
Gets along best with calm, friendly female dogs. Likes to play chase but not wrestling.

HOW AM I WITH CATS OR SMALL ANIMALS:
No cats or small animals.

HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
No small kids (10 or under) and no kids in the home.

BEHAVIOR NOTES:

  • Can be touch sensitive, especially around the neck or slip lead. Treats help distract him when removing leads.

  • Has bite history; requires an experienced owner.

  • Needs a slow feeder—tends to pull inserts out.

  • Does best in a single dog home with no condos or apartments.

  • Pre-appointment call required.

  • No condos/apartments, no small kids or small animals.
