Moose

ABOUT THIS PET

Moose is the king of fetch. He chases the ball, brings it straight back, drops it, and waits for the next throw. He will fetch for over an hour without slowing down. He also enjoys long walks, swimming, and wading pools.

HOUSEHOLD FIT

Moose has lived with other dogs and has played well with dogs at the shelter. On leash, he barks and pulls toward dogs he passes. He has not reacted to cats he has come across at FOHA, but he does try to chase squirrels and rabbits on walks. He is more comfortable with older teens and adults. He would do best in a home without young children.

TRAINING

Moose knows sit, down, paw, spin, and touch, and he is learning stay. He sits the moment he is asked and works eagerly for treats. He walks politely and does not pull on the leash.

GOOD TO KNOW

Moose is protective of his food and his favorite chews, and will growl if someone reaches toward his bowl. He can be suspicious of new people and takes time to warm up: he barks when someone he does not know comes to his door, and settles once they give him time and space. Moose also has a bite on his record. FOHA will review his full history with you when you meet him.

Moose is eligible for the FOHA Senior Care Plan that helps to cover any unexpected costs if they arise. FOHA waives the adoption fee on eligible pets and reimburses up to $1,500 in qualifying medical expenses or pet insurance premiums.
