Meet Regis

🌟 Meet Regis!

Regis is a handsome black-and-white gentleman with a quiet soul and a truly inspiring story of bravery. When he first arrived at FOHA, he was so nervous that many visitors didn’t even realize he was in the cat room. He preferred to stay tucked safely out of sight, taking his time to understand this new, busy world.

Thanks to the patience and kindness of dedicated staff and volunteers, something wonderful happened — Regis decided it was time to be brave. One day, to everyone’s delight, he emerged from hiding and confidently claimed a cozy spot right on the couch. There were cheers, photos, and videos flying as we celebrated this huge milestone for him. It was a moment none of us will forget.

🐾 A Few of My Favorite Things:
Temptations treats (the fastest way to my heart!) • Gentle pets • Quiet hangout spots • Soft couches • Observing the world at my own pace

🏡 What I’m Looking For:
I’d love a calm, understanding home where I can continue to build confidence and enjoy the peaceful life I deserve. I’m still a bit reserved, but I no longer feel the need to run and hide — instead, I’ll stay nearby and even ask for pets when I’m feeling comfortable. If you’re looking for a kind, quiet older gentleman to share your days with, I might just be your perfect match.

💛 Ready to fall in love?
Come meet me at FOHA — I may be subtle, but the bond we’ll build will be something truly special.

Regis's Medical Information

I have FIV, that's what I have but it is NOT who I AM! Please don't let that scare you away. I want you to know that FIV+ cats can and DO live long, healthy, and normal lives when given the chance. In fact, statistically, most FIV cats live as long as their indoor counterparts (13-18 years), and much longer than cats that live outdoors (3-8 years). There are many reported cases where FIV+ cats live well into old age without ever showing any symptoms. It's important to note that dogs, other pets, and humans are absolutely immune to FIV. The virus itself is astonishingly frail and can live outside of the body for only a few seconds. The virus is also extremely slow-acting, so it is unlikely to pose any threat to other cats in the household. I know that adopting an FIV+ cat may seem like a big responsibility, but I promise that I am worth it. I am a sweet and loving kitty who just wants a warm and safe place to call home. If you are willing to give me a chance, I promise to bring you years of joy and companionship. So please come and meet me, and see for yourself that FIV+ cats are just as wonderful and deserving of love as any other cat.
