FOHA Senior Dogs WIN with Grey Muzzle Support—$20,000 Awarded!
We’re thrilled to announce that FOHA has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization to support our Senior Care Plan, helping senior dogs like Cornbread find loving homes and thrive in their golden years.
Cornbread’s journey to a better life began when he was transferred to FOHA from a partner shelter in North Carolina. At 8 years old, this 80-pound Bloodhound mix quickly stole our hearts. He adores people, leans in close for maximum snuggles, and never says no to a salmon treat. Cornbread is good with kids, gets along well with other dogs, and is even foster-eligible. With his gentle spirit and senior-dog wisdom, he’s proof that older dogs have so much love left to give—and he’s still waiting for his forever family. Meet Cornbread ➝ Cornbread’s Full Story
Thanks to Grey Muzzle support, FOHA assisted 63 senior dogs last year through intake, adoption, and long-term care—including 28 who found forever homes. ❤️
This critical funding strengthens FOHA’s Senior Care Plan, making senior adoptions possible by covering medical expenses, offering support after placement, and growing the program. It also helps shelters and rescues across the USA, France, and Nepal develop senior-focused initiatives like medical and dental care, surrender prevention, hospice support, and adoption incentives.
Thanks to Grey Muzzle and their generous supporters, more senior dogs at FOHA, like Cornbread, will thrive in their golden years, and more families will discover the joy of adopting an older companion.
We’re deeply grateful to Grey Muzzle and their generous supporters for believing in a future where every senior dog finds safety, love, and a soft landing.
