Our daughter, Gabrielle Maria Klimkowski, passed away July 23, 2018; she was 26 years old. She graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Graphic Design and Art History. Gabrielle loved art and fashion. She had a heart of gold toward people and animals, always mindful of ways to help how ever she could. She often got her places of work involved in community service and they always responded gladly. Gabrielle found Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) and became very interested in the organization. Gabrielle and her boyfriend even sponsored a special needs kitty, at FOHA, named Biscuit. Gabrielle adopted a special needs kitty herself from a local cat clinic and named her Itty Bitty. She called her Bitty, for short. Bitty has Feline Leukemia and now lives with us and our two special needs cats. In Gabrielle’s memory, we recently raised $426.00 for Friends of Homeless Animals. Our hearts were touched by the overwheling love and support from family and friends that loved her. Through their generosity, they are keeping her memory alive through programs, such as at FOHA, which she loved and were important to her.
My husband and I will be donating some things of Gabrielle’s to the Treasure Hound thrift store to help out. We hope that as these items are purchased, many will know they came from a very special young woman whose smile and laughter were so full of life and who had a strong desire to touch the lives of others as well as many animals. Our appreciation goes out to the president of FOHA, Stacey Gimbert and the manager of Treasure Hound, Mary Beth.
I hope we can all continue to support Friends of Homeless Animals so as they can continue to do what they do best in helping and saving animals in need.
