Meet Puffy
ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hi, I’m Puffy — a beautiful grey lady with the softest fur and the sweetest eyes. I might seem a little shy at first, but give me a moment and you’ll see my affectionate side peek through. I’ve already started leaning into pets and giving gentle head butts to the kind humans who take the time to get to know me.
I was fostered with my lookalike friend Meowy — we resembled each other so much that my foster put a pretty pink collar on me so she could tell us apart! Now I’m settling into a new environment and taking things at my own pace, but I’m already showing signs that I’ll blossom with love and patience.
I’m still getting used to everything here, but I’m excited for what comes next — especially if it involves a cozy home and a caring companion. Let’s learn about each other together!
HOW AM I WITH OTHER CATS:
To be determined. If you have another cat in the home I will go home as foster with intent to adopt so you can see how things go!
HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
To be determined. If you have a dog in the home I will go home as foster with intent to adopt so you can see how things go!
HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
I’d be a great match for a family with gentle children who know how to give love at my pace.
MY LITTER BOX HABITS:
Clean and consistent!
THINGS I LIKE:
Quiet spaces, slow pets, sweet head butts, and friendly faces.
THINGS I DISLIKE:
Still learning! I can be shy with new things, but I warm up quickly with patience.

Puffy's Medical Information
I have FIV, that's what I have but it is NOT who I AM! Please don't let that scare you away. I want you to know that FIV+ cats can and DO live long, healthy, and normal lives when given the chance. In fact, statistically, most FIV cats live as long as their indoor counterparts (13-18 years), and much longer than cats that live outdoors (3-8 years). There are many reported cases where FIV+ cats live well into old age without ever showing any symptoms. It's important to note that dogs, other pets, and humans are absolutely immune to FIV. The virus itself is astonishingly frail and can live outside of the body for only a few seconds. The virus is also extremely slow-acting, so it is unlikely to pose any threat to other cats in the household. I know that adopting an FIV+ cat may seem like a big responsibility, but I promise that I am worth it. I am a sweet and loving kitty who just wants a warm and safe place to call home. If you are willing to give me a chance, I promise to bring you years of joy and companionship. So please come and meet me, and see for yourself that FIV+ cats are just as wonderful and deserving of love as any other cat.
