ABOUT THIS PET

Polly Pocket is a curious dog who loves to investigate everything. In a backyard she checks out every inch, and she is just as keen on a walk. In the car she watches out the window or falls asleep. Inside she climbs into your lap, lays down, and sleeps curled up against you, or under the covers at night.

HOUSEHOLD FIT

Polly has met dogs at the shelter and done well. She would do best in a home without cats, and in an adult-only home.

TRAINING

Polly knows sit, down, stay, wait, come, jump, let’s go, this way, no, and eat, and is learning roll over. She sits and lies down on cue. When she hears “Do you want to…?” she tilts her head and perks her ears, knowing a walk or car ride may follow. She picks up new words quickly and eagerly works for chicken jerky and cheese.

GOOD TO KNOW

Polly takes a few minutes to warm up: she may bark or growl at someone new, men especially, or a dog she passes, then often settles after watching a bit. She does not like being left alone, and does better with a routine schedule.
