🌟 Meet Mercutio!

🐾 ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:

Mercutio is a goofy, lovable youngster with a heart as big as his personality. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, keep you active, and keep you on your toes, this sweet boy is ready to audition for the role!

Like many young dogs, Mercutio is still figuring out his manners. His excitement sometimes gets the best of him, and when he’s having a blast, he can become jumpy, mouthy, and a little over-the-top. The good news? None of it comes from a place of aggression—he’s simply an enthusiastic puppy in a grown-up body who hasn’t quite learned how to channel all that excitement yet.

Mercutio is incredibly smart and eager to learn. He’s very food motivated and already knows commands like sit, look, and jump. When he’s focused, he loves working with his person and is quick to pick up new things. Interactive toys, training games, and positive reinforcement will go a long way in helping this bright boy become the incredible companion we know he’s capable of being.

Once the zoomies settle, you’ll discover an affectionate, silly dog who truly wants to connect with his people. Mercutio is looking for an adopter who will enjoy continuing his training, celebrate his progress, and appreciate the wonderful dog he’s growing into. With a little patience, consistency, and plenty of outlets for his energy, this fun-loving boy has all the ingredients to become an amazing lifelong companion.

🐕 HOW AM I WITH DOGS:

We’re still learning more about my dog-to-dog social skills. If you have a dog at home, my friends at FOHA can schedule a dog introduction to see if we’re a good match.

🐱 HOW AM I WITH CATS:

Unknown — just ask my friends at FOHA to conduct a cat test.

👶 HOW AM I WITH KIDS:

Because I’m still learning not to jump and use my mouth when I’m excited, I’d likely do best with older, dog-savvy children who can help me continue practicing my manners.

🎓 I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS:

Sit, look, and jump! I’m smart, food motivated, and excited to keep learning.

🏠 MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING:

Still learning my routine in my new environment.

💖 THINGS I LIKE:

Treats, training sessions, toys, walks, learning new things, playing with my people, and staying busy.

⚠️ THINGS I DISLIKE:

I sometimes get so excited that I forget my manners! I’m still learning that toys are much better things to chew on than sleeves or leashes, and I’ll thrive with positive training and plenty of appropriate outlets for my puppy energy.

Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag starter food, 1 month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and additional medical procedures as recommended by our vet.
