Meet Marzipan

ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hi, I’m Marzipan – but you can call me Marzie.

I’m a very shy girl, and it takes me a long time to feel safe around people. In fact, I’ve never even barked in the two months I’ve been in my foster home. Loud places, people, and cars scare me, so I don’t go on walks where there’s a lot happening. I’m much more comfortable just being at home.

I like other dogs and do well living with them, but I mostly keep to myself. I don’t really play much yet, but I enjoy having their company nearby. Cats make me a little nervous, so I just leave them alone. I’m pretty good about being housebroken too.

What I really need is a quiet, patient home with a fenced yard where I can explore safely. I’m a sweet girl at heart, I just need a patient family to help me conquer my fears. With time, kindness, and understanding, I know I’ll be able to come out of my shell and show you the love I’ve been keeping tucked away.

HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
I am good with dogs.

HOW AM I WITH CATS:
I am good with cats.

HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
I think because of how shy I am that very small kids will scare me. Gentle older kids may be ok.

MY TRAINING:
Not listed – still learning!

This dog is part of FOHA’s Diamond Dog Program, which means they receive extra training support and guidance to help them succeed in a home. To learn more about the Diamond Dog Program, click here and scroll down!

MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING:
I am mostly housebroken.

THINGS I LIKE:

Spray cheese, dogs, sniffing in the yard, being outside

THINGS I DISLIKE:
Loud noises, too much petting
