Meet Lily
ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hi there, I’m Lily — and I’m a little bit special (okay, maybe a lot special). I was born outside on the property of one of FOHA’s amazing volunteers. When I was old enough to leave my mom, I was trapped and brought to FOHA to start my new life. That’s when everything changed.
After a checkup with the vet and my first vaccines, I moved into a foster home where I could learn what it means to be safe, loved, and spoiled — and let me tell you, it took some time. I was a scared little thing at first, but with the help of routine, patience, and lots (and lots!) of Churu treats, I started to blossom.
Now I’m a purr machine who loves to play! I zip around the room chasing toys and make my foster mom laugh with all my silly kitten energy. I’ve come a long way, but I still get nervous in new situations and with new people. I’ll need a quiet, patient home with folks who understand that I need time to build trust. If you rush me, I might run and hide — but if you earn it, my affection is so worth it.
I don’t love being picked up for long, and I’ll let you know (gently!) when I’ve had enough. I’m not a lap cat (yet), and maybe I never will be — but maybe I will be someday. If you know cats, you know we make the rules.
Because I missed some important early socialization, I would do best in a home without small children. I’m just starting to meet the dogs in my foster home — I’m curious, but still a little unsure. A slow, careful intro would be best if you have a calm dog.
FOHA requires that kittens under 6 months go home with another kitten or to a home with a social adult cat — and I’m fully on board with that! I love learning from other cats and having a buddy to cuddle and play with.
HOW AM I WITH OTHER CATS:
I do best with a social cat companion! Kittens under 6 months old at FOHA are required to go home with another kitten or to a home with another social cat. This is prime time for me to learn everything it means to be a cat.
HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
I’m just starting to meet the dogs in my foster home, I’m curious but cautious. I’d need slow introductions to a calm, cat-savvy dog.
HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
Small kids are a little too much for me since I’m still pretty fearful of people. I’d prefer a calm home with adults or older children who understand shy cats like me.
MY LITTER BOX HABITS:
Perfect! I always use my box like a good girl.
THINGS I LIKE:
Churus • Wand toys • Quiet spaces • Playing toss with my mouse toys and wand toys • My foster mom’s voice
THINGS I DISLIKE:
Being picked up too much • Loud noises • Sudden movements • People who don’t understand cat manners
