Meet Jim Halpert

ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hi, I’m Jim Halpert — a dashing, easygoing guy with a smart sense of humor and a soft spot for head scratches. Just like my namesake from The Office, I’m charming, playful, and always ready to make you smile (no staplers in Jell-O required). I love people and will happily lean in for attention, give little head butts, and chat you up while lounging in the window to keep tabs on the neighborhood.

I’m still figuring out my feline roommates here at FOHA, and I’d probably do best as your one and only or with another mellow cat who doesn’t mind my big personality. If you’re looking for a confident cat with just the right amount of sass and sweetness, I might be your guy.

HOW AM I WITH OTHER CATS:
I’m still getting used to the other cats in my room and tend to prefer my own space. If you have another cat in the home I will go home as foster with intent to adopt so you can see how things go!

HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
To be determined. If you have a dog in the home I will go home as foster with intent to adopt so you can see how things go!

HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
I’d be a great match for a family with gentle children who know how to give love at my pace.

MY LITTER BOX HABITS:
Excellent! I’m neat, clean, and consistent.

THINGS I LIKE:
Window watching • Head scratches • Chatting with my people • Being admired (obviously) • Toys that let me show off my charm

THINGS I DISLIKE:
I’m not a fan of pushy cats or being rushed — I prefer calm introductions and a little personal space when I need it.

Jim Halpert's Medical Information

I have FIV, that's what I have but it is NOT who I AM! Please don't let that scare you away. I want you to know that FIV+ cats can and DO live long, healthy, and normal lives when given the chance. In fact, statistically, most FIV cats live as long as their indoor counterparts (13-18 years), and much longer than cats that live outdoors (3-8 years). There are many reported cases where FIV+ cats live well into old age without ever showing any symptoms. It's important to note that dogs, other pets, and humans are absolutely immune to FIV. The virus itself is astonishingly frail and can live outside of the body for only a few seconds. The virus is also extremely slow-acting, so it is unlikely to pose any threat to other cats in the household. I know that adopting an FIV+ cat may seem like a big responsibility, but I promise that I am worth it. I am a sweet and loving kitty who just wants a warm and safe place to call home. If you are willing to give me a chance, I promise to bring you years of joy and companionship. So please come and meet me, and see for yourself that FIV+ cats are just as wonderful and deserving of love as any other cat.
