Meet Fleas Witherspoon
ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hi, I’m Fleas Witherspoon – and don’t let the name fool you, I’m an absolute sweetheart! I’m a young, gentle pup who’s still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. I arrived at FOHA with my sister Rosa Barks, and while we aren’t bonded, her presence has helped me feel a little more secure.
I’m naturally shy and startle easily, but I recover quickly and absolutely adore gentle affection once I feel comfortable. I love pets, treats, and quiet attention from patient people. Once I build some confidence, I’ll be the kind of companion who stays close and seeks comfort from the people I trust.
If you’re looking for a quiet, sensitive soul who just needs a little time to blossom, I might be the perfect match.
HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
Good with other dogs. I currently gain confidence from my sister Rosa, and could thrive in a home with a calm, friendly dog or as a solo dog with patient humans.
HOW AM I WITH CATS:
Unknown – FOHA can cat-test me upon request.
HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
Because I’m still a little shy, I may do best with children who understand shy dogs and can give me space to come out of my shell.
I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS:
Not yet – but I’m smart, treat-motivated, and eager to please once I feel safe.
MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING:
Still learning! Shelter staff can provide updates as I settle in and gain confidence in a structured environment.
THINGS I LIKE:
Treats, gentle affection, quiet walks, and calm human company. I especially enjoy being near people once I’ve had a moment to settle.
THINGS I DISLIKE:
Sudden noises, fast movements, and overwhelming situations. I need a calm, low-pressure environment to thrive.
