Meet Cobre

Hola amigos y potential forever family!

My name is Cobre, and I’ve got some exciting news for you. First things first, a huge gracias to the amazing FOHA volunteer and foster who rescued me from a shelter in Maryland. They saved my tail, and now I’m ready to find a loving home, hopefully with you!

Now, let me spill the beans about my quirks and charms, as reported by my current foster family. I’ve got this superpower – honing in on scents and sounds during our walks. It’s like I’ve got a built-in radar! Sometimes, I get so focused that I forget to listen to commands, but don’t worry, I’m working on it. My foster parent introduced this cool command called “Slow” in English and “Lento” in Spanish. When I follow it, I get treats and lots of praise. I’m a quick learner in two languages!

I must confess, I get a bit vocal when I see other dogs while out on walks, trying to show my bravado. Maybe I’m still figuring out the doggy social scene. I haven’t had much experience with other dogs while on my walks, you see.

Oh, and speaking of walks, I’m getting better on the leash in both languages, but sometimes I just can’t resist the urge to twirl around and have a little fun with it. It’s like a game! I may need a bit more practice, but I promise, I’m a good student.

Now, let’s talk bedtime. Due to a slight fear of those tricky wood stairs (they got me once, but I’m okay!), we’ve been having some cozy nights in the living room. I’ve claimed an old recliner as my own sleep throne—it’s pretty comfortable, if I do say so myself. And about that new couch – I may have tried to sneak on there a couple of times, but I’m learning this command called “Off” in English and “Baja” in Spanish. I think I’ll master it soon.

Oh, and here’s a little secret – I have no idea how big I am! My bed is always a bit too small for me, and I end up hanging off the edge. It’s pretty funny, and my foster family gets a good laugh out of it.

But here’s the scoop – I’m looking for a home with no cats and no chickens. Yep, I’m all about focusing on the humans and maybe some doggy friends. If you’re patient, understanding, and ready for some fun adventures in both English and Spanish, I think we could be a perfect match. Come meet me, and let’s create some pawsitively wonderful memories together!

Tail wags and woofs,
Cobre 🐾
