Buster Brown

ABOUT THIS PET
Buster loves to relax and sit on the porch while being pet and watching the world go by. He likes contact and will climb into your lap, lean against you, and roll over for belly rubs the first chance he gets. He does well with other dogs and enjoys interactive play, especially tug. Buster is friendly with people and dogs alike, and he walks calmly on leash.

HOUSEHOLD FIT
In shelter playgroups, Buster Brown runs and wrestles with other dogs but steers clear of rougher players. He listens well to other dogs’ signals and has backed off when a quieter dog asked him to stop. On leash he passes other dogs without barking or pulling. We don’t know how he does with cats.

TRAINING
Buster Brown knows sit, touch, and leave it, and is learning to hold a sit while someone puts on his harness. He waits patiently for food and works eagerly for treats. He walks on a loose leash at a steady pace without pulling. He is comfortable when people handle him and is manageable for grooming.

GOOD TO KNOW
Buster Brown can get jumpy when he is excited and can be wiggly when getting his harness on. The jumping mostly happens in his kennel at the shelter, and it is getting better with training. Buster is a FOHA Diamond Dog, and his adoption comes with a support plan from FOHA’s behavior and training team.
