🐾 ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:

Hi, I’m Benito! I recently arrived at FOHA after being found as a stray, so I am still getting used to all the new sights, sounds, and routines. I can be a little shy at first and may choose a quiet spot to observe what’s happening around me before I feel ready to fully engage.

Once I begin to feel more comfortable, I will come closer on my own to sniff and accept gentle pets. I’m very interested in affection and seem to enjoy calm, reassuring voices. I’ve already shown that I’m willing to walk with people when encouraged, even if I pause occasionally to stop and take things in when something startles me.

I may not be very motivated by typical treats right now, but I have shown interest in spray cheese and seem more focused on connection than food. I also quickly relieved myself when taken outside, which may mean I’ll adjust well to learning a consistent routine.

I’m gentle and tolerant around other dogs, even energetic puppies, though I seem to prefer calmer companions who match my softer energy. With time, patience, and positive experiences, I’m likely to continue building confidence and showing more of my sweet personality.

🐶 HOW AM I WITH DOGS:

I’ve been very friendly and tolerant with other dogs. I may benefit from living with a calm, confident dog who can help show me the ropes and make me feel more secure.

🐱 HOW AM I WITH CATS:

Unknown – just ask my friends at FOHA to do a cat test and we can see how I do.

👧 HOW AM I WITH KIDS:

Unknown – because I can be shy in new situations, slow and respectful introductions will be important.

Unsure at this time, but I did go potty quickly when taken outside, which is a great start.
