Meet Andy Bernard

ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hello there! I’m Andy Bernard — a handsome, sweet guy with striking green eyes and an even greener heart. I didn’t go to Cornell, but I’d easily earn a degree in Advanced Napping and a minor in Being Adorable. I’m a people-cat through and through: affectionate, mellow, and always ready for attention.

I love to be loved, and I give that love right back in purrs, headbutts, and cozy company. Whether you’re working from home or relaxing with a good book, I’ll be your loyal sidekick. Life with me is calm, warm, and full of soft snuggles.

HOW AM I WITH OTHER CATS:
To be determined. If you have another cat in the home I will go home as foster with intent to adopt so you can see how things go! (But I’ve been noted to do well with other cats.)

HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
To be determined. If you have a dog in the home I will go home as foster with intent to adopt so you can see how things go!

HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
I’ve done well with kids and would be a great fit for a family with gentle children who can give affection at my pace.

MY LITTER BOX HABITS:
Clean and consistent — I’ve got excellent litter box manners.

THINGS I LIKE:
Window lounging • Snuggles • Naps • Gentle pets • Loving attention • Peaceful vibes

THINGS I DISLIKE:
Not much — I’m pretty easygoing, but I do prefer a calm and kind environment.

Andy Bernard's Medical Information

I have FIV, that's what I have but it is NOT who I AM! Please don't let that scare you away. I want you to know that FIV+ cats can and DO live long, healthy, and normal lives when given the chance. In fact, statistically, most FIV cats live as long as their indoor counterparts (13-18 years), and much longer than cats that live outdoors (3-8 years). There are many reported cases where FIV+ cats live well into old age without ever showing any symptoms. It's important to note that dogs, other pets, and humans are absolutely immune to FIV. The virus itself is astonishingly frail and can live outside of the body for only a few seconds. The virus is also extremely slow-acting, so it is unlikely to pose any threat to other cats in the household. I know that adopting an FIV+ cat may seem like a big responsibility, but I promise that I am worth it. I am a sweet and loving kitty who just wants a warm and safe place to call home. If you are willing to give me a chance, I promise to bring you years of joy and companionship. So please come and meet me, and see for yourself that FIV+ cats are just as wonderful and deserving of love as any other cat.
