🌟 Meet Adonis

Hi, I’m Adonis — yes, like the Greek god. The one known for being impossibly handsome. I didn’t name myself, but I’ll admit… it fits. With my striking looks and gentle presence, I have a quiet way of making an impression without even trying.

My journey hasn’t been an easy one. I spent months being cared for by a kind human in a tough neighborhood where life wasn’t always safe. When she had to move, she searched tirelessly for help but kept hitting dead ends. That’s when Community Cat Alliance reached out to FOHA after they weren’t able to find a placement for me elsewhere — and that’s how I finally found my way here.

Since being in foster care, I’ve shown just how special I am. I’m sweet, gentle, affectionate, and truly grateful for human kindness. I’m the kind of cat who settles in easily, enjoys being close, and makes every space feel calmer just by being there.

🐾 A Few of My Favorite Things:

Affection, cozy indoor living, gentle companionship, and sticking to my favorite meal — Purina ONE kibble (and only Purina ONE kibble, please!). I have excellent litter box manners and a wonderfully mellow demeanor.

🏡 What I’m Looking For:

I’m hoping for a loving home where I can finally feel secure and cherished. I’ve lived peacefully with another adult male cat and did beautifully, and I’ve been unfazed by dogs as well. I’m social, adaptable, and easygoing — the kind of cat who fits right into home life.

If you have another cat or a dog in the home, I will go home as foster with intent to adopt so we can make sure everyone feels comfortable and it’s a great match.

💛 A Little More About Me:
I’ve had a rough start, but I’ve never lost my loving nature. Like the Adonis of myth, I’m a reminder that beauty and gentleness can survive even the hardest circumstances — especially when someone finally gives you a chance.

Adonis's Medical Information

I have FIV, that's what I have but it is NOT who I AM! Please don't let that scare you away. I want you to know that FIV+ cats can and DO live long, healthy, and normal lives when given the chance. In fact, statistically, most FIV cats live as long as their indoor counterparts (13-18 years), and much longer than cats that live outdoors (3-8 years). There are many reported cases where FIV+ cats live well into old age without ever showing any symptoms. It's important to note that dogs, other pets, and humans are absolutely immune to FIV. The virus itself is astonishingly frail and can live outside of the body for only a few seconds. The virus is also extremely slow-acting, so it is unlikely to pose any threat to other cats in the household. I know that adopting an FIV+ cat may seem like a big responsibility, but I promise that I am worth it. I am a sweet and loving kitty who just wants a warm and safe place to call home. If you are willing to give me a chance, I promise to bring you years of joy and companionship. So please come and meet me, and see for yourself that FIV+ cats are just as wonderful and deserving of love as any other cat.
