Created in 2018, Tails to Trails (TTT) continues to be a volunteer and dog favorite enrichment program at FOHA. Each week, a small group of senior volunteers takes adoptable dogs to an off-site park for a three to four mile hike. During these outings, the dogs enjoy a car ride to and from the shelter, new smells in an unusual environment, extra exercise, and some continued “hanging out”/relaxation time away from the shelter following the hike.
Tails to Trails is one example of our volunteers going the extra mile to make life better for our dogs while they wait for their forever homes, and something that sets us apart from other rescues.
