Marley is the kind of dog that can heal a broken heart. After losing two precious dogs in the span of a couple years, I wasn’t sure if I had the heart to love another dog. I had started to volunteer at FOHA a few years back and had noticed the one dog that didn’t go crazy when it was time for a walk. Marley was the one that just laid there and watched me with his big brown eyes. He was calm as I prepared him to walk too but once we were outside of the pen he surprised me by jumping up and giving me a big kiss. I fell in love!
Fostering Marley with the intent to adopt proved to be the best decision I could have made. He brought such joy to my life during a time of great sadness. Slowly but surely he healed my broken heart. I have posted some Marley updates on FOHA’s facebook page and the overwhelming reaction I get is “thank you for giving him a chance”. I think to myself, “No thanks necessary. He gave ME a chance. A chance to feel happy and smile again”. I can’t imagine life without my snuggle buddy….. even if he is a couch and a bed hog!!
