ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hi, I’m Nova! I’m a sweet girl who is still adjusting to my new surroundings and learning that the world is a safe and exciting place. The kennel environment can feel a little overwhelming for me at first, and I may seem shy when you first meet me. But once I get the chance to step out and explore, my true personality really shines!

When I’m out of my kennel, my confidence skyrockets. I love running around, doing zoomies, and exploring new spaces. I’m curious, playful, and enjoy interacting with my people once I’ve had a little time to settle in. After some fun and exploration, I’m just as happy to relax and take a cozy nap nearby.

I’m a smart girl who already knows sit and paw, and I’m very motivated by treats, which makes learning new things fun for both of us. I also enjoy enrichment activities like snuffle mats and chasing tennis balls. Once I’m comfortable, I’m very affectionate and love leaning in for pets and rubbing against you for attention.

My ideal home will be patient and understanding as I continue to build confidence and adjust to new experiences. With a little time and encouragement, I’m sure I’ll blossom into a wonderful companion.

HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
I walked past other dogs calmly during my assessment and didn’t show much interest in interacting with them yet. I may need slow introductions while I continue to build confidence.

HOW AM I WITH CATS:
Unknown.

HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
Unknown.

I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS:
Sit, Paw, and I’m close to mastering Down! I’m eager to learn more, especially when treats are involved.

MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING:
I’m still adjusting to the shelter environment and kennel life can make me a little nervous, especially with loud barking around me. Once I have time to settle, I relax and rest comfortably.

THINGS I LIKE:
Treats, enrichment games like snuffle mats, zoomies, gentle affection, exploring new spaces, and playing chase with my people.

THINGS I DISLIKE:
Busy or noisy kennel environments can feel overwhelming for me at first, but I do much better once I’m in a calm space where I can relax and explore.
