Meet Aries
Hi, I’m Aries — but you might remember me as Pily if you’ve been following my story from San Miguel.
I’ve already lived through a lot in my short life. I was found during a TNR project with my best friend Topanga (formerly Lina). We were both in heat, trying to stay safe while being followed by a dozen male dogs. Once we were spayed and our wounds healed, we were supposed to go back to the streets… but we stayed right by the shelter entrance. We didn’t want to leave. We were done with life on the streets — the noise, the fear, the constant uncertainty. Thankfully, the kind people at the shelter noticed and took us back in.
I spent my days in the “Chill Dogs” area, which was perfect for me because I’m a pretty mellow girl. I love people — I just need a little time to feel safe. When I first arrived at FOHA after my big international journey (can you believe I flew on a plane?!), I was really nervous. Everything was new, and it was a lot to take in. It took some gentle coaxing to get me out of my run, but I eventually made it to the office where I felt safe enough to cuddle up and enjoy some treats.
I love affection — I really do — but I need a quiet home where I can take my time to settle in. Toys make me happy, treats are delicious, and once I trust you, I’ll lean into your arms like I’ve known you forever. I might hide at first when new people come around, but I’m trying so hard to be brave.
What I want more than anything is a secure, loving home — one where I never have to be scared again. Maybe with a kind dog friend, and definitely with patient people who will see the gentle heart behind my shy eyes. I know I’ll get there… and I hope you’ll be the one waiting for me when I do.
