Lila

My name is Lila. I’m a super friendly girl who absolutely loves people. I might be a little jumpy when you first put on the leash, but once we get going, I settle right in and walk like a pro.

I’m always up for an adventure, especially if it involves sniffing around the woods. There are just so many amazing smells out there! Don’t worry though, I won’t hold you up. I keep a good pace, and if you ever stumble or have any trouble, I’m right there with you. You can count on me.

People often tell me I have a beautiful, shiny coat and a very distinguished white marking right under my chin. But the best part about me is how much love I have to give. Whether you’re looking for a loyal companion for yourself or a sweet addition to your family, I’m ready to fill that role with all my heart.

I was lucky enough to spend some time in short term foster. I’m a well-mannered house guest and completely potty trained. I don’t chew on things I shouldn’t, I sleep through the night, and I won’t beg while you eat (though I might quietly keep you company). I do get a little anxious when I can’t be near you—I’ll whine at the door or baby gate, but I don’t bark, and I settle down after a little while.

I’m still learning not to jump up when I’m excited, and sometimes I get a little mouthy when I’m feeling playful, but I’m very good at listening when you tell me “no.” I love squeaky toys and respond well to redirection. Loud noises don’t bother me much, and I’m happy to relax in my bed while you work.

I haven’t lived with other animals, but I’ve seen plenty of dogs on walks. Sometimes I get a little nervous or excited when I see them, and I might whine or stare. If a dog is reactive toward me, I can get scared and might jump, but I calm down once we’ve put some space between us.

The only thing I really don’t like? Being away from you! I just love being part of the action. If you’re looking for a cuddly, loyal best friend, let’s meet—I think we’ll be perfect together!
