🌟 Meet Niko!

🐾 ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:

Niko is the total package: sweet, confident, playful, and just as happy entertaining himself as he is spending time with his favorite people. From the moment he heads out for an adventure, he approaches the world with a calm curiosity and an easygoing attitude.

This handsome boy LOVES toys. Give him something to tug, toss, or play with, and he’s one happy pup! He’ll happily bring toys over and invite you to join the fun, making him a great match for someone looking for a dog who enjoys interactive play. Once playtime winds down, Niko is more than ready for affection, too. He seeks out pets and cuddles on his own and has a wonderfully sweet way of checking in when he’s ready for some love.

Niko has shown himself to be a confident and independent explorer. He’s comfortable investigating new environments, isn’t easily bothered by loud noises, and walks beautifully on leash. When passing other dogs, he’s been calm and friendly, approaching appropriately to sniff without showing reactivity. He also knows sit and responds to his name.

Niko has a wonderful balance to his personality. He enjoys being part of the action but doesn’t need constant attention, happily exploring or playing independently before coming back to spend time with you. If you’re looking for a sweet, chill companion who can join you for an adventure, challenge you to a game of tug, and then settle in for some cuddles, Niko may be your guy.

🐕 HOW AM I WITH DOGS:

I’ve been calm and friendly around the dogs I’ve encountered, approaching appropriately to sniff without showing reactivity. If you have a dog at home, my friends at FOHA can schedule a dog introduction to make sure we’re a good match.

🐱 HOW AM I WITH CATS:

Unknown — just ask my friends at FOHA to conduct a cat test.

👶 HOW AM I WITH KIDS:

Unknown — we recommend slow introductions to help everyone feel comfortable.

🎓 I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS:

I know sit and respond to my name! I’m also very treat motivated and ready to keep learning. I can take treats a little enthusiastically, so a flat palm or tossed treat may be best while I practice gentler manners.

🏠 MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING:

Unsure at this time. I spent time exploring the adoption office without any observed accidents or marking.

💖 THINGS I LIKE:

Toys, tugging, interactive play, treats, walks, exploring, cuddles, affection, and spending time with my people.

⚠️ THINGS I DISLIKE:

Nothing notable so far! I’m a pretty confident, easygoing guy who seems happy to explore, play, and enjoy whatever the day brings.

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:
Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag starter food, 1 month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and additional medical procedures as recommended by our vet.
