We’re thrilled to share some amazing news – The PEDIGREE Foundation has generously awarded us a $15,000 grant to further develop our dog behavior program, helping to provide second chances for homeless dogs at our shelter.
This funding will enable us to expand the training for both staff and volunteers, ensuring that they’re equipped with the skills needed to implement positive reinforcement techniques. These techniques play a critical role in helping dogs adjust to shelter life, preparing them for adoption, and addressing specific behavioral challenges.
Our dog behavior program includes:
- The Diamond Dog Program, designed for long-term residents who need extra support
- Specialized attention for at-risk dogs who may struggle in typical shelter environments
- Training for easily adoptable dogs, to ensure they’re ready for their forever homes
We’re also excited to announce that this grant will allow us to develop a new app to track each dog’s training progress, ensuring every dog receives personalized attention and consistent care throughout their time at FOHA.
FOHA has been fortunate to receive grants from the PEDIGREE Foundation since 2019, and their support has been instrumental in helping us care for both homeless dogs and cats. We are immensely grateful for their ongoing dedication to our mission and the animals we serve.
Thank you, PEDIGREE Foundation, for your incredible generosity and for helping us make a lasting impact on the lives of the animals in our care!
