FOHA is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a $2,500 grant from the Loudoun Community Foundation Pay-It-Forward Animal Welfare (PAW) Fund. The grant will be used for FOHA’s “Help a Heart” program to save, treat, and find adoptive homes for heartworm positive dogs. Heartwom diseases can be a costly, debilitating, and potentially deadly disease for dogs. Due to the high cost and months of treatments, many rescues shy away from accepting heartworm positive dogs.
Thank you to all who help make this program possible at FOHA, including our volunteer grant writer, FOHA’s partnership with Leesburg Veterinary Hospital for low cost treatments, other veterinary partners, and our fosters and adopters who give these dogs a second chance at life and love. This grant will help FOHA save even more heartworm positive dogs.
