As many of you may know, Heartworm disease can be a costly, debilitating, and potentially deadly disease for dogs. Due to the high cost and months of treatment, many rescues shy away from accepting Heartworm Positive (HW+) dogs. It is simply more time and money than they can commit. Thanks to a partnership with Leesburg Veterinary Hospital, which provides for low cost treatment, so far in 2020 we have helped 10 dogs receive heartworm treatment. Most are fully healed from the months-long treatment and are in their forever homes.
