Every weekend a dedicated group of senior volunteers takes several lucky, eager dogs away from the shelter and out to wooded trails for a walk and a short break from shelter life. The dogs enjoy a car ride, time with their favorite volunteers, cool dips in creeks and nice water breaks to relax. The dogs selected are those dogs that are in most need of a break and may have quirks that keep them from getting out for adoption events. Both humans and dogs alike find the time away refreshing.
This is just one of many enrichment programs FOHA has created to make the time the dogs are with us more enjoyable.
