I already have a pending adoption! Please take a look at some of my other friends who are still available for adoption.
Hey there, I’m Sammy, the sweetest old boy you’ll ever meet! Life’s all about smelling the roses, or in my case, everything around me. I’m on a perpetual mission to explore and uncover the hidden treasures (especially bits of food) on the ground – because, let’s face it, food is life, am I right?
Speaking of which, I’m a bit of a foodie. Scratch that, I’m a food enthusiast – I’ll eat anything you put in front of me. And when it comes to canine friendships, I’m an all-inclusive guy. I love hanging out with dogs of all shapes and sizes, and I even aced the small dog introduction. PUPDATE: My foster reports I am great with cats and other dogs. I LOVE being with people! I’m easy to walk!
I may be a senior, but my love for attention and affection hasn’t aged a day. I’ve mastered the art of the daytime snooze, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than finding the perfect sunbeam to bask in.
Now, about my mischievous side – I’ve been caught counter surfing a few times, and there was this one incident with a cream cheese lid that I just couldn’t resist. A little bark here and there? Guilty as charged, especially when there are treats on the table and my human isn’t paying attention. Can you blame me? PUPDATE: My foster mom says I am a PERFECT gentleman in the house and have not once counter surfed!
But beneath the cheeky exterior lies a heart that craves love. I’m not afraid to nudge a hand out of the way to get what I want, but hey, it’s all in good fun. I’m a tolerant fella, sitting still like a champ while getting fitted for my harness and collar.
Now, about these back legs of mine – they’re not the strongest, but don’t think for a second that it’s slowing me down. FOSTER UPDATE: After some TLC, joint supplements, play time and exercise, my foster reports my back legs are no longer an issue and I can keep up easily with my foster siblings! I LOVE to play! Isn’t that great news?! I’m on the move, ready for adventure, and I’ve got a lot of pep in my step. Car rides? Oh, I’m a pro at those.
And, between you and me, I’m pretty sure I’m house trained. PUPDATE: I AM house broken! My foster family is definitely happy to report that fact!
If you’re looking for a senior with a zest for life, a love for food, and a heart full of joy, I’m your guy. Let’s embark on this journey together – I promise it’ll be filled with love, laughter, and maybe a few more counter-surfing adventures.
Sammy is supported by a grant from Grey Muzzle Organization.
I’ve found myself in a foster home with FOHA alumni, Mac Miller and his fur sibling. My foster mom says I’m a great guy and lovely house guest! Here are a few pictures:
