Meet Corona

Think of a warm summer day on a seaside beach, sand in your toes and I am the beer that usually comes to mind. How much more refreshing would that drink taste with me by your side? My name means “crown” in Latin, because certainly I am a prince looking for my royal forever family to give my regal love and attention.

I am a little shy at first, but I just want to make sure you are the right person before I open up to show you my affectionate side. Give me a few nice pets, good boy affirmations and take me to the great outdoors, and my personality blooms like the cherry blossoms on the Tidal Basin. Be prepared that for every cuddle you give, I will return tenfold as I douse you with kisses and hugs. I reserve most of my energy for endearment!

I like the sunshine and fresh air, so a nice walk or hike will make my tail wag. I am a fairly easy walker, though I may want to sniff out something crisp in the grass or get a closer look at a bucolic lake. I am fairly good if you tell me to ease off, though nature just stimulates my doggy senses so much!

A lot has been made of my name during the past year, but I hope it instead makes you think of the famous poem “Corona” by poet Paul Celan. “We stand and embrace at the window; they watch us from the street. It is time for this to be known. It is time that the stone took the trouble to bloom, that unrest’s heart started to beat. It’s time for it to be time.”

I was so lucky to get to spend a long weekend with one of my favorite FOHA volunteers in wild wonderful West Virginia. Guess what? I’m HOUSETRAINED! Just ask me if I need to go and I will meet you at the door ready to go! I love to play just as much as I love to snuggle. I am also good at snoozing on my own. I am a little leary of loud sounds and noticed pops that were far away. I had such a great time with my FOHA friend and their family! Now I’m sure I’m ready for a family of my own!!
