Hi, I’m Balto!
Named after the famous hero sled dog from the 1920’s, I may not bring you medical supplies but I can deliver lots of love. One look into my piercing blue eyes and you’ll want to meet me.
I am quiet and shy, so I’ll just need a little extra patience and time. I walk well leash and don’t pull too much (unlike my sled dog namesake). I also am very calm and well-behaved while riding in a car. Ear scratches are one of my favorite things!
I’ve recently joined my other four-legged friends for FOHA doggy socialization and I really come alive when I’m with other dogs. Just check out the video below and watch that tail wag!
I may be shy but if you’re willing to take the time, I know I’ll could be a great addition to your family. Submit an application today so we can meet and we can learn more about each other!
I am looking for a family that understands I am very shy and will work with me.
Balto's Medical Information
The FOHA Medical Team says I need to be treated for heartworms before my adoption can be finalized. That doesn't mean I can't become a member of your family now. Once the adoption application process is complete, my adoption will be considered a "Foster with Intent to Adopt". That means I get to live with you and you will take me to one of FOHA’s approved partner veterinarians for my medical treatment. FOHA will financially cover the costs. Once my treatment is completed, we will be able to finalize my adoption and I will be forever yours.
