Hey there, I’m Apollo!

I might bark a little when you walk by my kennel, but don’t let that fool you—I’m just saying, “Hey, look at me!” As soon as you stop in front of my door, I sit right down like the good boy I am. I’m super smart and know all the basics like sit, paw, drop it, wait, and I even respond to my name!

I LOVE to play tug and will happily trade you my toy when you ask—no possessiveness here! You can even touch my toys while I’m playing. I’m a big, goofy baby who adores butt scratches, and I’ll lean right into you for more. I don’t mind having my paws touched, and I even let the vet check my teeth without a fuss.

I’m strong on leash, so I’ll need someone who can handle my power, especially when I get excited to go outside. A breed-savvy person would be the best match for me. I enjoy the company of female dogs and was even spotted running with small dogs before I came here. But I haven’t joined Doggy Social here at FOHA yet.

I’m estimated to be around 2-4 years old, neutered, vaccinated, and finished my treatment for Lyme disease. I was picked up by animal control a few times and taken to a local shelter in southern VA, and my previous owner never came back for me—but I know my forever person is out there. If you’re looking for a loving, smart, and playful companion, I just might be your guy!
