Status: Up for Adoption

Breed: Greater Swiss Mountain Dog mix

Gender: Female

Weight: 70

Age: 8 years and 8 months

My name is Kayla and I am a female Swiss Mountain Dog mix. I didn't have a great start in life. I went into a very high kill shelter as a stray and was lucky to get out alive – FOHA saw how beautiful I am and arranged for my trip to Northern Virginia.

I recently completed a 4 week training class and I was very impressive - if I do say so myself!  Now I need someone to adopt me who will continue to work with me both on obedience training and socialization with other dogs. I have tons of energy and I love to play but I can play a bit hard, so little children are probably not a good fit. I spent a bit of time at home with a volunteer before I came to FOHA so I get the housebreaking thing.  Once I have had time to get to know you I can be very affectionate. If you are an experienced dog owner who has the time and energy to work with me, I might just be the girl for you!

Given that I have entered my golden years,  I am eligible for FOHA's Senior Care Program.  Inquiries can be directed to Rob Mock at robfoha@aol.com.

This dog can only be adopted within the Washington D.C. metro area.

If you are interested in adopting a FOHA dog, please review our Adoption Policies and complete a Dog Adoption Application.
