Domestic short hair, female, adult
I'm cute, sassy, and ready to find a home. I'm Pomera, aka Pom Pom. I'm a "special needs" cat because I've had a bit of a history of tummy troubles. My tummy gave me such problems that at one point in time, I weighed less than 4 pounds. It took lots of diagnostics and a little bit of experimenting to figure out the right combination of special diet and medicine to help my belly digest food and get all the nutrients out of it. Now I eat a hypoallergenic food - and no sneaking me treats, or we'll both be in trouble! Because I'm on such a restrictive diet, I'd do best in a home where either I'm the only cat or where there's a way I can be fed separately and frequently throughout the day. I'm what they call a social eater - I'm not one to sit and gobble down my food all at one sitting. I'll also need medication on a daily basis - my cocktail of meds that help me digest and have been instrument in getting me from under 4 pounds in weight to over 7 pounds! Because I need a special person to monitor my food intake, folks may be hesitant to take on the commitment of a cat who could need future medical care, diagnostics, and ongoing medication. That's why FOHA looks for special people to serve as long-term foster families. FOHA does the heavy lifting financially for the medical care, including medicines and prescription food. You provide a loving home and lots of TLC. Sounds like a mutually beneficial arrangement...with lots of benefit to me as I finally get to find a loving home where I can be the playful girl I'm meant to be. Fuzzy mice, beware! I'm gonna find you! First I just have to find that special person who will open his/her heart and home to me.
