Domestic long hair/Maine Coon mix, male, adult

Like the lion in the Wizard of Oz, I’m in need of some courage – and a forever home. I’m Washer, a shy boy who is learning quickly to adjust to my new life here at FOHA. I am a handsome orange tabby, over 15 pounds in size, so I’m a big boy. But while I’m big, I’m not brave – not yet, at least. I’m a bit overwhelmed by everything I’m encountering – so many new people and experiences. Being a homeless cat is not easy, let me tell you. Thankfully, I’ve met such kind people here at FOHA. They speak to me gently and tell me everything’s going to be all right. They have quickly learned my love of being brushed. Oh, that stroking is so calming and relaxing against my fur – oh, and against my cheeks is the best. While I may give a hiss in fear upon first meeting you, please ignore that and go ahead and pet me. I enjoy scritches on my head, neck, and ears. With all of the loving people here, I’m sure to overcome my fears and become the brave little lion I’m meant to be. So, if you see the wizard, please ask him for some more courage for me….and a forever home, please. Signed, Washer the Cowardly Lion.
