I’m the poster child for why kitties should be indoor only and spayed or neutered. I’m Chloe. First, let me tell you that I’m a very sweet and affectionate girl. I live in my foster home with other cats and a beagle, and I get along with everyone. I didn’t always get to live inside, though. I was someone’s cat whom they left outside and didn’t get spayed. I was nursing my kittens when I was attacked and shaken by a neighborhood dog. My owner at that time did not take me to the vet, and I continued to nurse my babies but could not use my back legs at all for 2 months. Over time, I could walk again, and I went into heat once more – yep, more kittens. When my owner moved away, he asked a neighbor to feed me. Thankfully, that neighbor called a local Trap-Neuter-Return organization to have me spayed at their low-cost clinic. The vets took one look at me and knew I needed to be spayed and off the streets. I’m mobile – able to run and play, use the litter box normally, etc. – but my right leg does not quite move normally, dragging behind my left. Therefore, it’s best that I remain an indoor cat where I am safe. Despite my difficult early years and my run-in with a not-so-nice dog, I do well with all my four-legged friends and love humans. I’m looking for a forever family to call my own. I’m not at the FOHA shelter but with a volunteer from the Trap-Neuter-Return organization near Fredericksburg who has been caring for me. If you’re interested in learning more about me or perhaps meeting me, please contact Vicky at email@example.com.
