Gender: Male

Weight: 65

Age: 6 years and 1 months

Marvin is a special dog who demonstrates both tremendous sweetness and affection and also particular sensitivities. He is wary of strangers and often requires several meetings to discern whether he is comfortable with one. For this reason, he should not be around kids and would do best in a home that doesn’t get a lot of visitors or with someone who understands to use a lot of care introducing him to people he doesn’t know.

Once he’s comfortable with someone, though, Marvin is deeply affectionate and adores snuggling, sometimes even finding his way onto a willing lap. He is known to get very excited when he sees his favorite people coming and loves to greet them with enthusiastic wiggles and a strong “lean” against their legs. He’s played very well with other dogs and loves the water and chewing his toys.

While Marvin walks beautifully on-leash, he is usually just as content to relax and receive belly rubs as he is to go for a stroll. In fact, his walking is currently restricted due to a knee injury that makes him a candidate for surgery. This means he is also eligible to be fostered in home where he could recover from surgery away from the shelter. If you are interested in meeting this beautiful boy and/or providing a foster home for him post-surgery, please fill out an application, and one of Marvin’s favorite people will be happy to talk more with you about meeting him.

Marvin needs an experienced dog owner and a home without children.
